Here’s our second Holiday Recipe for you, and your family, to enjoy!

Gingerbread House

Gingerbread Dough for Houses:


The Ingredients:

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 cup dark molasses
2 Tbsp cider vinegar
5 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves

Instructions:

  • In a Kitchen Aid stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, molasses, and vinegar and mix slowly.
  • Add the sifted dry ingredients and mix everything until combined.
  • Roll out the dough onto lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thick.
  • Lay the pattern pieces for the house on the dough and cut out the shapes (you can find pattern pieces for your house on the Internet).
  • Place the pieces onto a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Bake the pieces for 12-15 minutes at 375F (times may vary depending on the oven).
