Norman Love Confections’ pink pumps are making an encore appearance to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and they are available only during October. We have launched a month-long fundraiser with proceeds from the sales of the $28 milk chocolate high-heel pumps supporting Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida.
The shoes, originally conceived by Maura Metheny, head of chocolate design and product innovation at NLC, are five inches tall, 6 1/2 inches long, three inches wide and made of 150 grams of ultra-premium chocolate. Three dollars from each shoe will benefit Komen.
The pink pumps will be available at the Fort Myers and Naples, Florida chocolate salons, and the new Miromar location after its early October opening, throughout the month of October. For more information about these locations including hours of operation, visit http://www.normanloveconfections.com/about/chocolate-salon/.
“Breast cancer awareness and treatment has advanced significantly, but it’s still important for every woman to have regular mammograms,” said Norman Love. “Our pink pumps are a fun way to remind your family and friends to take care of themselves and schedule an exam.”
Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in 1985 to promote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer. Since 1990, early detection and effective treatment have resulted in a 34 percent decline in breast cancer mortality in the U.S.
Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida has given more than $6.6 million in grants to nonprofit groups in the five-county area for breast cancer screening, treatment, support, and education since 2002. Seventy-five percent of its net fundraising stays in the local community, with 25 percent supporting international breast cancer research. Susan G. Komen is the largest funder of nongovernmental breast cancer research in the world. Visit www.KomenSWFL.org or call 239-498-0016 to learn more.
